Yvonne Joyce Craig, May 16 1937 - - August 17, 2015. Craig was an American dancer and actress who was popular for her performances as Batgirl in the 1960s' TV series Batman and Marta her character, the Orion slave girl Marta as seen in Star Trek's episode "Whom Gods Deceive" (1969). The Huffington Post called her "a pioneer in female superheroes" on television. Yvonne Craig was born and raised in Taylorville, Illinois. Her family relocated to Dallas in 1951. She was a student at W. H. Adamson High School, Sunset High School as well as W. H. Adamson High School. Unfortunately, Craig didn't graduate since she was not awarded "one credits for PE". Craig was accepted into Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo as the the youngest dancer in the corps de ballerina, after being identified by Alexandra Danilova who is a dancer and instructor.
