Padma Lakshmi Bio
Padma Parvati Lakshmi (born September 1 1970) was born in Chennai. Lakshmi had her parents divorce at the age of two years old. Her mother emigrated to America to escape Indian stigma. Lakshmi was a part of her grandparents from Chennai for two years prior to moving with her mother to the United States. The couple divorced and Lakshmi has a younger brother and sister. Lakshmi's last name is associated with Hindu goddess, wealth and prosperity. She was born in New York and raised in Los Angeles. She would visit India for a short period of time every year to visit her relatives. Padma Lakshmi began to be interested in acting in 1999. She was in "Figlio of Sandokan" which was an Italian Pirate movie. Next, she starred in 'Caraibi' (Pirates: Blood Brothers) which was a show about 17th-century pirates.
