Sarah Chalke
Sarah Chalke was born in Ottawa, Ontario
Canada on 27 August 1976. Angie Chalke is her mother and Doug Chalke are her
father. Sarah is the middle child, with one older sister, Natasha Chalke, and
one younger, Piper Chalke. Sarah's first acting role was in City Boy (1992),
the TV-produced film. After her debut film was a success, Sarah auditioned for
the role "Becky" of Roseanne (1988). Following the time that Alicia
Goranson left the show to go to college The show was looking for an alternative.
Sarah completed her high school graduation in 1995 during the filming of the
1994-1995 seasons of Roseanne (1988). Also, in 1994, Sarah co-starred in the
film Ernest Goes to School (1994) together with Jim Varney. She starred in
Robin of Locksley (1996) and Stand against Fear(1996). In both films Sarah
played the role of Krista Wilson who was an athlete. In 1998, just a year
following the time that Roseanne (1988) ended, Sarah was asked to perform in a
show titled Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998). Based on the show Nothing Too
Good for a Cowboy (2000), Sarah also was a part of the show. Sarah replaced
Becky's (1988) role from Alicia Goranson. She stated that she would like to
quit acting and pursue a degree in college. 2001 (1993-1997) She played Sara
Gilbert's older sister on Roseanne (1988) but she's actually younger.
Participated in the 1999 CCMA awards ceremony and was awarded the award for the
most memorable single. [September 1999] Appeared in local Vancouver theater
productions, aged 8 years old. The actress is fluent in French, German and
Spanish. She helps out at a hospice , where patients with terminal illness are
treated . She also volunteers for the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund. In her
leisure time, Chalke prefers cooking with her friends (especially Thai and
sushi) as well as playing the guitar and hiking, skiing (she's an instructor)
as well as kayaking, snowboarding and reading. Her father is a lawyer, as are
her parents mediators. They also operate an agency for child adoption. She
traveled with her parents to China two years ago to assist in coordinating the
adoptions of a lot of orphans.
